European markets have started the week on a positive note, welcoming the agreement reached over the weekend between Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The agreement stipulates that European products exported to the United States will be taxed at 15%, whereas the White House had previously threatened to tax them at 30%.
After reaching a high of 7,931 points in early trading, the CAC40 is now up 0.66% at 7,886 points. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 is currently up 0.35% in pre-market trading.
Initiatives are likely to remain limited ahead of the Fed's interest rate decision on Thursday. Microsoft and Meta will also publish their results on Wednesday evening, with Apple and Amazon next in line, on Thursday evening.
Amongst particular stocks, STM is up 2.9%, Legrand 1.8%, Cap Gemini 1.6% and Dassault Systèmes 1.5%, while Thalès is down 3.2%, Carrefour 2.2%, Pernod Ricard 1.8%, Orange 1.5% and Kering 1.4%.
Graphically, the CAC40's configuration remains unchanged. Only a break above 7722/7940 points will allow it to regain its momentum. Below 7940 points, the index could quickly fill its opening gap.
