VE-Austria follows VONN's global, centralized, investment policy. The firm mainly manages portfolios invested in global equity, fixed-income and money-market instruments. At the core of VONN's investment philosophy is a strategic asset allocation process, which follows a top-down approach. The firm allocates assets in accordance with the fundamental assessment of macroeconomic factors such as global economies, currencies, interest rates, global stock markets and sectors. At the same time, VONN utilizes quantitative models to establish tailored portfolio structures. Once asset allocation has been determined, fund managers select stocks from the Vontobel Buy List, which is built by a Global Equity Research team. Equities on the list are selected via a standardized process which follows a combination of bottom-up and top-down selection. VONN's analysts perform fundamental analysis of targeted shares, assessing qualitative and quantitative factors. Market timing, based on technical analysis, is the final step before equities can be added to the buy list.
