FTC Accuses Amazon of Overcharging Advertisers
The US Federal Trade Commission has filed suit against Amazon, accusing the company of "secretly and systematically" overcharging advertisers using its platform. Backed by the attorneys general of 22 states, the complaint says more than $20bn may have been collected through hidden surcharges. The practices in question are said to date back to a 2019 change to the ad auction system.
