During the first half of 2026, the Prologue group maintained its steady pace of growth, with revenue reaching 24.8m, up 6.1% organically on a pro forma basis year over year. Europe delivered 6.1% growth over the half, with revenue of 22.9m. Outside Europe, activity increased 6.8%, with billings of 1.9m.

Newmont and Barrick: disputes settled, NGM joint venture strengthened

Duke Energy announces a $1.75bn equity unit offering
Duke Energy Corporation today announced its intention to sell 35m equity units in a public offering. Each equity unit will be issued with a stated amount set at $50 (for a total stated amount of $1.75bn) and will initially take the form of a corporate unit consisting of a contract to purchase Duke Energy common stock at a later date and two 1/40 undivided beneficial interests in remarketable senior notes of the company, each with a principal amount of $1,000.

European stock markets: a mixed session amid tensions in the Strait of Hormuz
European stock markets are trading in mixed order at midday. Investors remain highly attentive to any progress in talks between the United States and Iran aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery of global maritime trade. Logic Instrument, a European player specializing in the design and distribution of rugged computing systems for defense, reports revenue of 39.7m for the first half of 2026, up 105% year over year. Gross margin was notably hit over the period by around 4% due to higher raw material prices in electronics and memory that could only be passed through starting in May 2026.

Global food prices: a mixed monthly rise in the FAO index
The FAO Food Price Index averaged 131.1 points in July 2026, up 0.7 point (0.6%) from the previous month. Gains in the cereal, sugar and vegetable oil price indices were partly offset by declines in meat and dairy. The food price index rose 1.3 points (1%) from a year earlier, but remained 29.1 points (18.2%) below its record level reached in March 2022.
