The firm constructs portfolios using a mix of individual stocks, bonds, ETFs, exchange-traded notes, closed-end funds, mutual funds, private pooled investment vehicles, structured notes, alternative investments and digital assets. Their equity strategies focus on capital appreciation as a primary objective. They select individual securities based upon fundamental analysis performed by their research investment professionals. Their fixed income strategies aim to achieve capital preservation and are formed through a combined top-down and bottom-up perspective.

Vantage Investment Advisors' investment approach focuses on asset allocation. The firm may make changes to the asset class weightings within a client's long-term asset allocation in response to changes in economic conditions, analyst forecasts or market trends. Changes to the asset allocation may also occur periodically to ensure that the portfolio complements each client's investment goals and individual circumstances. Through rebalancing, a buy low, sell high investment strategy is implemented to return clients to their target asset mix. The firm does not view rebalancing as an automatic process.
