Tom Jokerst

Tom Jokerst is chief technical officer at Broadbus, leading the overall technical direction of the company and directing research and development strategies.
With more than thirty years' experience in the cable industry, Jokerst is widely recognized as a pioneer in the field.
He joined Charter Communications, Inc., the nation's third largest broadband communications company, in 1993 and was named senior vice president of advanced technology in 1998.
He became senior technical advisor to Charter in 2002.
Previously, he served as vice president, Office of Science & Technology for Cable Television Laboratories (CableLabs) in Boulder, Colorado where, among many activities, he evaluated proposals for digital video compression systems.
He also conceived and promoted the development of a commercially successful digital video impulse noise reducer for use in headend applications.
At Continental Cablevision, he was assistant vice president and director of engineering for the company's mid-west region.
Prior to Continental he served in various technical capacities for Cable Information Systems in New York.
Among his numerous industry activities, Jokerst served as chairman of the NCTA Engineering Committee, and is a senior member and former director of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).
He is a graduate of Ranken Technical Institute in St. Louis and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, with a degree in Electronics technology
