Mr. Harris is a managing vice president in Gartner Research, responsible for the worldwide Communications research team.
His group is responsible for analyzing the markets and technologies for fixed and mobile communications services and equipment, advising enterprises and vendors on a broad range of communications issues.
Previously, Mr. Harris led the Network Services team within Communications.
Prior to that, he led the Network and Internet Services practice within the IT Management team.
His personal area of research included public network outsourcing.
He also held business/practice development and telecom consulting roles within Gartner.
Prior to joining Gartner in 1998, Mr. Harris worked at AT&T, Sprint, and Centel, marketing wireless, voice and data communications solutions to Fortune 500 corporations.
Mr. Harris received a bachelor of science degree in economics from Vanderbilt University and a master's degree from the University of Michigan School of Business Administration, with emphasis on marketing and international business
