John G. MacFarlane

John G.
Macfarlane, III, is Managing Member of Arrochar Management LLC.
Prior to the formation of Arrochar, he was Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Tudor Investment Corp., where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Co-Chairman of the Firm’s Management Committee from 1998 to 2009.
Prior to joining Tudor in 1998, Mr. Macfarlane worked at Salomon Brothers for 18 years, as Treasurer from 1989 to 1996 and as Managing Director of several fixed-income trading businesses.
Mr. Macfarlane is a member of the University of Virginia’s Board of Visitors and serves on the Board of the University of Virginia Investment Management Company (UVIMCO), which he chaired from 2011-2013.
He is a member of the University of Virginia College Foundation Board, the Board of Hampden-Sydney College, the Board of Trustees of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, the Board of the U.S.
Olympic and Paralympic Foundation and the Foreign Policy Leadership Council at Brookings.
Formerly, he served on the Darden School Foundation Board from 2001 to 2014, where he was Chairman from 2007 to 2009, and on the Board of Brunswick School, where he was Chairman from 2001 to 2006.
Mr. Macfarlane has a BA in classical studies from Hampden-Sydney College, where he was a George F.
Baker Scholar, and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School.
He lives in Crozet, Virginia, with his wife, Dudley.
They have three sons.
