Edward Bernhard

Mr. Bernhard joined Cascadia Capital as a Managing Director in January 2008.
He came to Cascadia from Stoel Rives, a Portland-based law firm, where he was the founder and Managing Director of the Energy Ventures Group, a member of the Technology Ventures Group and Chairman of the Solar Group.
At Stoel, Mr. Bernhard focused on securities and general corporate law, with particular emphasis on providing counsel to entrepreneurs, investors, technology transfer organizations and others involved with creating, operating, and financing emerging businesses in the Pacific Northwest.
Prior to joining Stoel Rives in 2004, Mr. Bernhard was the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Cascadia Pacific Management, one of the Pacific Northwest's first early-stage venture capitalists.
He managed four separate institutionally-backed venture funds in Oregon, Washington, and Western Canada, which financed over 100 of the region's fastest growing technology companies, including: Radisys, FEI Company, Creative Multimedia, Antivirals, Sapient Health Network/WebMD, PrintPaks, Templex Technologies, Serveron Corporation and Westport Innovations.
A recipient of The Portland Business Journal's "40 Under 40" Award, given to the most accomplished, influential and civic-minded young executives in Portland, Mr. Bernhard was also a New York-based strategic consultant in the Information Technologies Group of Booz Allen Hamilton.
Mr. Bernhard, who is based in Portland for Cascadia, received his J.D.
from Willamette University College of Law and his B.A., magna cum laude, in economics from Princeton University.
