Although the decision to utilize a passive manager or instrument will not be based on the lack of a suitable active manager but rather based on a decision to capture asset class alpha through active asset allocation.

DWN manages a wide range of portfolios invested across asset classes, primarily equity, fixed-income, real estate, cash, as well as derivatives, with the bulk of investments in South African securities; however, they also manage several portfolios dedicated to offshore investments. The firm performs in-house fundamental research as well as technical analysis and has expertise in understanding macroeconomic and global market trends.
