Mr. Garey J.
Aitken, CFA MBA, is a Portfolio Manager & Head of Canadian Equities at ClearBridge Investments LLC, a Head of Canadian Equities & Portfolio Manager at Franklin Templeton Investments Corp.
and a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager & Head of Canadian Equities at Franklin ClearBridge Investment Management.
He joined the firm in 1998 and the investment industry in 1992.
He has 34 years of investment industry experience.
Mr. Aitken began his tenure with the Canadian Equity Team at Bissett Investment Management as the Director of Equity Research, which was acquired by Franklin Templeton and renamed Franklin Bissett.
During that time, he was named Chief Investment Officer.
Franklin Bissett Investment Management became part of ClearBridge in 2023.
Prior to this, he was an Assistant Treasurer at Poco Petroleums; and an Account Officer at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
He received an M.B.A. in finance from the University of British Columbia and Bachelor of Commerce in finance from the University of Alberta.
