Shares of power producers fell, trimming the sector's gains for the week.

The mega-cap tech companies that have led the stock market for much of the current bull-market cycle finished the week flat to lower, while the SPDR Select Sector Utilities exchange-traded fund, which tracks the utilities industry group of the S&P 500, rose 2.5%.
