STMicroelectronics has announced the presentation, alongside AI vision innovation specialist Leopard Imaging, of an all-in-one multimodal vision module for humanoid and other advanced robotic systems. "The multimodal module combines 2D imaging, 3D depth sensing, and human-like motion perception," summarized the Franco-Italian semiconductor manufacturer.
In parallel, the Franco-Italian group announced a partnership with Nvidia to develop and drive the adoption of physical artificial intelligence systems, including humanoid, industrial, service, and healthcare robots. ST will integrate its sensors, microcontrollers, and motor control solutions into the Nvidia robotics ecosystem, enabling developers to design, train, and deploy robotic systems more efficiently.
The first results of this collaboration include the integration of a Leopard Imaging stereo depth camera enabled by ST via the Nvidia Holoscan Sensor Bridge, as well as the addition of a high-fidelity model of ST's inertial measurement unit (IMU) into the Nvidia Isaac Sim simulation ecosystem.
Finally, continuing its collaboration with the American giant Nvidia, STMicroelectronics announced the expansion of its 800 VDC power conversion product portfolio with two new advanced architectures, 800 VDC to 12 V and 800 VDC to 6 V, for AI data centers. Developed according to NVIDIA's 800 VDC reference design, these new power conversion stages complement ST's previous 800 VDC to 50 V solution and are being showcased at NVIDIA GTC 2026.
"With these new converters for 800 VDC power distribution, ST provides a comprehensive set of solutions supporting the deployment of gigawatt-scale computing infrastructure with more efficient, scalable, and sustainable power architectures," the company stated.
With over 48,000 creators and makers of semiconductor technologies mastering the semiconductor supply chain in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, STMicroelectronics N.V. is an integrated device manufacturer, working with more than 200,000 customers and thousands of partners to design and build products, solutions, and ecosystems that address their challenges and opportunities, and the need to support a more sustainable world. The Group's technologies enable smarter mobility, more efficient power and energy management, and the wide-scale deployment of cloud-connected autonomous things.
