Mr. Herb A. May, III, is Head of Equity Capital Markets at Signal Hill Capital Group LLC since 2006.
He has several years of industry experience across equity capital markets, equity syndicate, institutional sales, and equity trading.
Since joining Signal Hill in 2006, he has completed over a dozen equity transactions including IPOs for American Public Education Inc., Bridgepoint Education, Education Management Corp., and Fortinet.
He also plays a central role in Signal Hill’s sponsor coverage effort taking advantage of his extensive relationships with leading venture capital and private equity firms.
Mr. May began his career at Alex.
Brown & Sons in 1987 as an Equity Sales Trader in New York, a group that he would run from 1995 through 2000, when he joined the Global Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Bank Alex.

In the three years prior to joining Signal Hill, he was a senior member of the Wachovia Securities Equity Capital Markets team.
He served on the Equity Management Committee, and focused his time on the strategic direction of the overall equity business including recruiting, institutional and corporate client development, relationship management, and deal origination and execution.
Mr. May is a graduate of the Salisbury School in Salisbury, CT., where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees.
He graduated from the University of Virginia in May of 1987 with a B.A. in History.
