Gen Kato

Mr. Gen Kato is a Head of Singapore at Polymer Capital Singapore Pte Ltd. and a President & Representative Director at SBS Flec Co., Ltd. He is on the Board of Directors at SBS Flec Co., Ltd. and SBS Holdings, Inc. He joined Polymer Capital in November 2020.
He has more than 24 years' experience in the financial industry on both the sell-side and buy-side.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kato spent five years as the chief investment officer at MELCO Capital Pte.
Ltd. in Singapore, responsible for all investment and risk.
Before MELCO he was a managing director at MAM Pte.
Ltd., a Singapore-based family office, managing various types of investments.
He also worked at Nikko Citigroup in Tokyo, where he was head of equity derivatives trading until 2008.
He joined Salomon Brothers in Tokyo in 1996 as a derivatives trader.
Mr. Kato has a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Economics at the University of Tokyo.
Mr. Kato was previously employed as a Chief Investment Officer by Melco Capital Pte Ltd.
